The 2008 Compendium of Evidence-Based Behavioral Interventions (EBIs) was updated on May 7 to include 6 new EBIs, bringing the total number of EBIs to 63.

Of the 63 EBIs listed in the Compendium, 35 EBIs are specific to African Americans, and 13 EBIs target men who have sex with men (MSM).

NASTAD's "HIV Testing in Emergency Departments: A Primer on Issues and Strategies for Health Departments," National Alliance of State and Territorial AIDS Directors: The primer examines health departments' roles in implementing HIV testing in EDs, reviews considerations for implementation, and addresses issues and concerns associated with implementation. In addition, the primer highlights collaborations between health departments and EDs that participants in a NASTAD consultation on ED testing in January. It also discusses the importance of collaborative relationships between EDs and health departments in implementing CDC's 2006 recommendations for HIV testing (NASTAD release, 10/3). Kaiser Report
